We formerly know Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 14 range is getting a “ complete redesign”. But now we know a lot more, and Apple’s design opinions are going to shoot shockwaves through iPhone suckers. A brace of leaks this week ask serious questions of Apple’s coming-word iPhone strategy and are likely to divide suckers. Let’s break them down.
The first leak, via assiduity display specialist Ross Young, reveals that Apple will replace the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a punch “ hole lozenge design”. The indirect punch hole is anticipated to house the Face ID fleck projector, with the lozenge-shaped cut- eschewal containing both the frontal camera and the Face ID infrared camera.
Interestingly, Young (who has a near-perfect track record) states that “ the lower hole won’t be unnoticeable … The two-hole conception will be unique to Apple.” This design, rendered over, is likely to prove largely divisive with Apple putatively keen to retain a design differentiator — putatively a vertical ‘i’ for iPhone ( really?).
Meanwhile, the alternate leak is inversely head-scratching. According to an exploration note by critic Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities (via MacRumors), Apple is planning a curious combination of upgrades and downgrades for the standard iPhone 14 and new iPhone 14 Max.
The critic claims that Apple will upgrade them with 120Hz Creation displays and impinge their RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB. This will bring them into line with their iPhone 14Pro-model coequals. On the wise side, Pu states that Apple will downgrade the iPhone 14 models from 128 GB to 64 GB of entry- position storehouse. A move that would shortly beget a considerable counterreaction.
Both these leaks are troubling in different ways. The new iPhone 14 Pro/ Pro Max design is a big threat and if Apple plans to give its biggest differentiator — the ProMotion display — to the standard models you’d anticipate an outpour to them. That said, reducing entry- position storehouses may also alienate suckers then. Especially with price rises anticipated.

There’s still a lot to get agitated about. Former iPhone 14 leaks claim Apple will introduce the each-new camera, bigger batteries and indeed remove the SIM card niche to go eSIM only. Further fantastic leaks boast that Apple will restore Touch ID, gutter Lightning in favor of USB-C, and switch iPhone 14 Pro models to a titanium lattice.
